Manchester or Liverpool | Hybrid Working

Competitive Salary & Benefits Package

We are working with a leading international law firm to recruit an Associate into their specialist Commercial, TMT and IP team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious lawyer at NQ–4 PQE level to develop their expertise in a broad, non-contentious practice that spans commercial contracts, IT, outsourcing, and intellectual property all within a practice handling work across the UK and internationally.

Join a High-Calibre Team

The team advises a diverse portfolio of clients - from cutting-edge technology companies and household-name retailers to major healthcare providers, universities, and global manufacturers. Much of the work has an international dimension, giving you the chance to tackle complex cross-border matters and work with colleagues and clients in multiple jurisdictions.

Operating as one integrated, cross-office team, you’ll be involved in strategic contract drafting and negotiation, tactical structuring advice, and large-scale project delivery. You’ll be working alongside experienced partners who are leaders in their fields, gaining exposure to high-value matters from day one.

What to Expect

Your work will include:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial supply-chain agreements, distribution terms, franchise and agency arrangements, contract manufacturing agreements, and IT and outsourcing contracts.
  • Advising on IP licensing and ownership issues in a commercial context.
  • Supporting corporate transactions with commercial and IP input.
  • Advising on data protection compliance within commercial contracting.
  • Working with clients in sectors as varied as retail, technology, manufacturing, health, education, and the third sector.

Why Manchester or Liverpool?

Both cities offer a thriving legal and commercial scene, rich cultural heritage, and excellent quality of life. Manchester’s vibrant city centre and status as a hub for innovation make it a dynamic place to work, while Liverpool’s waterfront setting and creative energy create a uniquely engaging environment. Each city offers a strong legal community, first-class transport links, and a wealth of cultural, sporting, and leisure opportunities.

The Right Fit

You will be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with experience in commercial contracts, IT, and/or IP work gained during your training or post-qualification. You’ll have strong drafting and negotiating skills, a solid grasp of contract law, and a desire to build your expertise further in an environment that offers real variety and challenge.

A Firm that Invests in You

You can expect a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and a flexible approach to working that recognises the importance of life outside the office. The firm offers excellent training and development opportunities, ensuring you can progress your career while enjoying a supportive and collaborative culture.

If you’re looking for a role that will challenge, develop, and reward you in equal measure - with the added excitement of international work - we’d love to hear from you.
