Very Competitive Salary & Benefits Package

Haggerty Jaques is delighted to be working on behalf of a highly regarded national law firm seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join its growing team.

This is an opportunity to become part of a genuinely collaborative and people-focused firm that has built an outstanding reputation for both the quality of its work and the way it treats its people. Unlike many firms that simply talk about culture, this organisation has invested heavily in creating an environment where lawyers can thrive professionally whilst maintaining a healthy and sustainable career.

The successful candidate will enjoy a broad and intellectually stimulating workload, advising a diverse client base that includes organisations operating across the education, technology, public sector and wider commercial markets.

The Opportunity

This role offers exposure to a varied mix of strategic commercial matters, often involving significant projects, complex stakeholder relationships and innovative business arrangements.

You can expect to advise on:

•              Commercial contracts and trading arrangements

•              Technology and digital transformation projects

•              Procurement and supply chain matters

•              Outsourcing and managed service arrangements

•              Data protection and information governance issues

•              Intellectual property licensing and exploitation

•              Collaboration agreements and strategic partnerships

•              Multi-party commercial projects with domestic and international elements

The team operates on a genuinely national basis, meaning lawyers benefit from working alongside colleagues across multiple offices whilst maintaining strong local connections.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is not simply a technical drafting role.

The team is regularly involved in helping clients navigate commercially sensitive decisions and complex business challenges. Lawyers are encouraged to build trusted adviser relationships and become an integral part of their clients’ decision-making process.

You will have the opportunity to:

•              Work directly with clients from the outset

•              Play a visible role in significant projects

•              Develop your own professional profile

•              Contribute to business development initiatives

•              Collaborate with recognised specialists across multiple practice areas

•              Take on leadership and mentoring responsibilities as your career progresses

About You

Applications are welcomed from experienced Commercial Solicitors with approximately six years’ PQE or above.

You are likely to offer:

•              A strong grounding in commercial contracts work

•              Experience advising on technology, digital or data-related matters

•              Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

•              Strong commercial awareness and practical judgement

•              The ability to manage complex matters with confidence

•              A collaborative and relationship-driven approach

•              A genuine interest in understanding clients’ businesses and objectives

Candidates may currently be working within a regional, national or international practice and will be looking for a role that offers both high-quality work and a supportive long-term platform for progression.

The Firm

Our client has developed an enviable reputation as one of the UK’s leading employers within the legal sector.

The culture is collegiate, supportive and refreshingly down-to-earth. Lawyers are trusted to manage their careers in a way that works for them, whilst benefiting from exceptional resources, strong leadership and a genuine commitment to wellbeing and inclusion.

Career development is taken seriously and individuals are encouraged to pursue their own interests, build market profiles and contribute to the future direction of the business.

Location

The team is particularly keen to hear from lawyers based in:

•              Leeds

•              Manchester

However, applications from candidates based in other regional locations may also be considered.
