Real Estate | Senior Associate

London (with Hybrid Working)

Very Competitive Salary & Benefits Package

Haggerty Jaques are delighted to have been instructed on behalf of a highly respected London law firm to recruit an experienced Real Estate Senior Associate.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a market-leading property practice acting on some of the most interesting and technically challenging projects in the UK. The team is involved in work that genuinely shapes the built environment, advising on complex development, regeneration and infrastructure schemes with significant public impact.

If you’re looking for a role offering intellectually stimulating work, exposure to high-profile clients and the opportunity to develop your career within a collaborative and well-established practice, we’d be pleased to tell you more.

Why this opportunity stands out

This is far more than a traditional commercial property role.

You’ll advise on landmark development and regeneration projects, working alongside recognised experts in the sector on matters that combine commercial real estate with wider infrastructure and strategic land issues.

The practice enjoys longstanding client relationships and an excellent reputation for delivering complex, high-value transactions that often sit at the intersection of development, planning, infrastructure and the public sector.

The breadth of work means no two matters are the same.

The work

The successful candidate can expect to advise on a varied mix of matters including:

  • Commercial acquisitions and disposals
  • Strategic land and development projects
  • Regeneration schemes
  • Land assembly and site assembly arrangements
  • Development agreements
  • Option, promotion and overage agreements
  • Infrastructure and utilities-related property work
  • Telecommunications matters
  • Property aspects of major public projects
  • Complex landlord and tenant matters
  • Portfolio management work
  • Real estate support on wider corporate and commercial transactions
  • Compulsory purchase and associated property issues (experience welcomed but not essential)

There is genuine opportunity to become deeply involved in some of the firm’s highest profile instructions from an early stage.

A platform to build your career

This role offers significantly more responsibility than simply managing a caseload.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead substantial transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Work directly with senior clients, developers, public bodies and major landowners.
  • Take ownership of technically challenging matters.
  • Supervise and develop junior lawyers.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of an already successful Real Estate practice.
  • Become involved in thought leadership, client seminars and sector-focused initiatives.
  • Play an active role in winning and developing new instructions.

For ambitious lawyers looking towards Partnership in the future, this represents an outstanding platform.

About you

We’re keen to hear from qualified solicitors with strong commercial real estate experience gained within a recognised property practice.

Experience in any of the following would be particularly attractive:

  • Development work
  • Regeneration
  • Strategic land
  • Infrastructure projects
  • Utilities
  • Telecommunications
  • Public sector real estate
  • Compulsory purchase

Applications from lawyers whose experience sits across both private sector and public sector development projects would be particularly welcome.

Why make a move?

Opportunities to join practices undertaking this calibre of work are relatively rare.

This role offers:

  • A consistently high-quality and intellectually interesting caseload.
  • Exposure to nationally significant development and regeneration projects.
  • Excellent client contact and responsibility.
  • A supportive and technically outstanding team.
  • Clear opportunities for progression.
  • A genuinely collaborative culture where expertise is recognised and rewarded.
