Haggerty Jaques is working with a top-tier national firm to recruit an experienced Legal Director into its Commercial Disputes team, based in Leeds. This is a chance to take on high-profile, complex disputes work at senior level, with genuine prospects for career progression.
The team is in growth mode, and this role will see you advising on a wide range of commercial and corporate disputes for major clients across multiple sectors. You’ll be involved in cutting-edge cases, regularly opposite Magic Circle and leading City practices.
The Work
As a Legal Director, you will:
- Manage complex cases and lead associate teams under partner supervision.
- Handle a broad mix of commercial and corporate disputes, including cross-border and multi-party matters.
- Deliver strategic advice and commercially pragmatic solutions using litigation, arbitration, mediation, adjudication, and other forms of ADR.
- Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments, tailoring advice to anticipate client needs.
- Work closely with colleagues in other practice areas to bring a joined-up approach to contentious and non-contentious issues.
What You’ll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be an established commercial disputes lawyer with at least 8 years’ PQE gained in private practice.
- Offer technical excellence across a range of disputes, with the versatility to adapt to new and challenging work.
- Have proven experience of managing complex matters and leading teams effectively.
- Demonstrate a strong track record in building and maintaining client relationships at senior levels.
